Program files are copied to the Programs folder of your hard drive, certain settings and installation information is copied to the Windows Registry and sometimes folders for personal files are created in your User Profile folder. Windows 'Programs and Features' is a simple and fast way to cleanly uninstall almost any program on your computer. Feb 27, 2012 Programs and features included with Windows 7 can be turned off in Windows Features. If the program doesn't uninstall completely the first time, sometimes running the uninstall program a second time will succeed. If the above option doesn't work, try uninstalling the program while Windows 7 is running in safe mode.
I have an entry I simply can't remove from the Windows 10 Apps & Features window. Uninstalling from there caused an error saying the program is not found. I found the Uninstall entry in the start menu and uninstalled. The program is no longer there but the Apps & Features entry still is.
I looked at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Uninstall
and this program is not there. Where else can it be?zmbqzmbq

Another place for uninstall keys:
Software installed for a single user is here. Log in either as the specific user, or if not found there, run
Twisty Impersonatorregedit
as administrator and look again.20.3k1515 gold badges7070 silver badges105105 bronze badges

If the installation folder still exist, it might contain
uninstall.exe
or unins000.exe
that you could use to uninstall.Another option is to reinstall it, and then uninstall again, but this time byusing an uninstaller such asRevo Uninstaller Freeware.
If all fails, search the disk and the registry for all mentions of 'TotalMedia'and delete manually. Create a system restore point before starting.

Two other techniques that may uninstall Windows apps that have not been fully uninstalled are:
- CCleaner: Lists Windows components and other applications that Windows' own Apps & Features does not (compare alongside one another to see what else CCleaner lists). The portable build that does not install will avoid adding further to the list of installed apps as it leaves no trace of use in the registry.
- Microsoft's troubleshooter that fixes problems that block programs from being installed or removed.

Many of the features that ship with Windows 10 can be turned on or off without the help of third-party tools. One can turn off features like Internet Explorer (not possible to remove Edge though), Windows PowerShell, Windows Media Player, XPS Viewer and many other features by opening Windows Features in Control Panel.
The same can also be used to enable features like Hyper-V and Telnet Client which are disabled by default in Windows 10.
Although this method is handy to enable or disable many features, it can’t be used remove native apps and major features like Cortana or Edge. If you want to select what you want to install with Windows 10, use a program like NTLite.
Using this method, you can turn on or off .Net Framework, Hyper-V, Internet Explorer, Windows Media Player, Microsoft Print to PDF, Windows PowerShell 2.0, Work Folders Client, Windows Fax and Scan, XPS Services, XPS Viewer and several other features.
