Sep 22, 2015 Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 - I need Drivers for Windows 10. My Laptop uses a Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter -PCIe (802.11b/g/n) 1-stream- This card worked perfectly on windows 7, but unfortunately it seems to be not compatible with Windows 10. I uninstalled the original Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 driver and installed. Download selected Qualcomm Atheros wireless driver v10.0.0.355 for AR9285 and Windows 10.

Well, the 318 driver seemed to work for a while, but then after a few hours of operation the connection just goes away with no indication, just as before. While I might have a hardware problem, the WiFi card was working fine with Windows 7 and then not working after the W10 install. I just gave up and installed my $5 replacement Realtek card and have not had a single issue since.

I have installed this driver (Atheros 10.0.0.318) - but the same frustration as before - no connection to the network on WLAN, although the ethernet connection works fine.
I will not upgrade my other (working) computers from Win 7 or Win 8 to Win 10.

Some Qualcomm/Atheros WiFi adapters are apparently not happy with Windows 10 and the drivers provided so far are not working like they did with previous Window versions. As stated above, I replaced the Atheros WiFi card with a RealTek card in my notebook computer. I have had the least trouble with Realtek and the most trouble with Atheros and Broadcomm. My new card was recognized immediately by Windows 10 and no new driver download was needed, and it has worked flawlessly since, just like the Atheros card did before W10. I recommend adapter replacement if you are able, just to avoid frustration. I found mine on eBay for less than $5 shipped, and it was so easy to replace. Lots of videos on YouTube for replacement of WiFi cards on various notebooks. Maybe there will be a good Atheros driver someday, but someday is too long for me.

Hi,
Just had the same problem and strangely enough I went to Lenovo for the Atheros Driver. Here is the link : http://support.lenovo.com/gb/en/downloads/ds103282
When this is installed uninstall the Win 10 drivers. Manually point to update drivers at C: and hey preseto I'm back up and working. Hope this helps someone else.

Just test with this driver and works fine : http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/misc/wireless/WIFI_V10_0_0_318_WHQL_Win10.zip
Remove the old driver and launch the setup file.

Fix Worked on my Sony Vaio Too!
This solved a similar problem, which occurred after the recent 'anniversary update' to Windows 10, on a Sony Vaio which also had the Atheros AR9285 wireless hardware. The Sony Vaio support site did not offer anything to solve this problem so it's great that the Asus solution worked. Many thanks to Kitze and Aznam for posting the info and link.

Hello everybody!
I can't get my Wi-Fi to work after upgrade from Windows 7 to windows 10. My Laptop uses a Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter -PCIe (802.11b/g/n) 1-stream- This card worked perfectly on windows 7, but unfortunately it seems to be not compatible with Windows 10. I uninstalled the original Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 driver and installed the last driver version available for Windows 8 - 64 bit, Driver Version 10.0.0.308 released on 12/11/2014 (It can be downloaded here: https://www.atheros.cz/atheros-wireless-download.php?chipset=60&system=8 ) I made the upgrade manually but the Wireless Network Adapter still doesn´t work at all. I will REALLY appreciate any help on this issue. Thanks in advance!
The problem is that the microsoft driver is incomplete. Find the original driver for Windows 7 provided by your device manufacturer. Install it. Restart the system. Now Wi-Fi will not work.To make it work go to Device Manager / Network adapters right click on Qualcomm Atheros AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter / Update Driver/ Search automatically for updated driver software. Wi-Fi should start working immediately after this process.
This should work on most devices upgraded from Windows 7.
